So how big do Rottweilers get? By the AKC breed standards, Rottweilers can weigh anywhere between 80 to 135 pounds, and stand at 22 to 27 inches tall at the shoulder. If we’d like to estimate a Rottweiler’s full size when grown up, the easiest way to do that is to look at the parent pups. 

Of course, this is not always possible when adopting a puppy from a shelter. However, if you opt for adopting a furry family member from a breeder, they will be able to shed some light onto the size of the parent pups, and the size of puppies in each litter.

Are There Different Sizes Of Rottweiler?

There’s also a rumor about the Mini Rottweiler size. However, there’s no such thing as a purebred Mini Rottweiler. The smaller Rottweiler pup can be either a runt or a puppy who is a result of two Rottweiler runts or have the dwarfism gene. Either of the options usually indicates a high risk of health problems. Therefore, responsible breeders won’t breed smaller puppies just for the sake of the looks. 

In addition, some ‘Mini Rottweilers’ or Pocket Rotties are in fact a mix of a Rottweiler and another, smaller breed. Often these mixes include a Rottweiler parent, and another parent breed like Beagle or Poodle. The Mini Rottweiler’s full size can fit anywhere between 30 to 60 pounds in weight.

Like most other dog breeds, Rottweilers will go through the most rapid growth stages in the first 6 months of their life. From there on, their growth will gradually slow down, and they might finish growing around the time they’re 18 to 24 months old. Typically, smaller Rottweilers will reach their full-grown size sooner than larger Rottweilers.

A male Rottweiler can weigh around 95 to 135 pounds, and stand at 24 to 27 inches tall at the shoulder. Female Rottweilers usually weigh around 80 to 100 pounds, and stand at 22 to 25 inches tall at the shoulder. 

A different formula you could use is:

1. Growth = current weight / current age in weeks
2. Adult weight = Growth x 52 (number of weeks in one year)

So, for example, if your 12-week old pup weighs 18 pounds. You simply divide the current weight by their age in weeks and multiply the result with 52:
